Root touch-ups, highlights or balayage?
All-over hair colour
All-over colour is an option to discuss when you want to change your overall shade or make it look more even. Show which parts you want changed and how light or dark you want to go. New roots and previously dyed hair may need different work.
Root touch-ups and grey coverage
A root touch-up focuses on the new growth near the scalp. Say whether you want to keep your current shade or discuss covering grey roots. If you also want the colour refreshed through the rest of your hair, include that in the request.
Highlights and streaks
Highlights add lighter sections to the hair. You can discuss fine pieces that blend in, brighter sections around the face or more noticeable streaks. Bring a photo showing how much difference you want between the lighter pieces and the rest of your hair.
Balayage
Balayage is a way of painting colour onto chosen sections of hair. Look at how the colour blends between the roots and ends in your photo. You can discuss a subtle change or a stronger difference in shade. The name alone does not tell us how bright you want the result.
Choose the shade and the parts you want coloured
Look at how light or dark the colour is, then at the shade itself. For example, you may like the warmth of a colour but prefer it darker overall. Explain that difference when sharing your photo.
Also show where you want the colour: close to the roots, around the face, through the ends or in a few separate sections. Lighting can change how colour looks in photos. More than one view helps you explain what you like.
Tell us about earlier dye and treatments
Include salon colour, home dye, lightening and smoothing work. Say which parts of the hair were treated, even if that colour is now only at the ends. Mention whether your roots and ends look or feel different.
Share any product or treatment names you remember. Tell the team about previous sensitivity to colour products, too. Ask what checks or preparation the service needs before your appointment. A photo helps with the first enquiry, and we may need to see your hair before agreeing the colour plan.

Where you put the colour changes the look
A few bright pieces at the front draw attention to your face. Colour underneath can show more when you move or tie your hair back. Decide where you want the change noticed before choosing how much hair to colour.
Colour around your face, panels and hidden sections
A brighter piece around your face puts the colour near your fringe or parting. A panel is a separate block of colour. A peekaboo section sits underneath other hair, so how much you see depends on how you wear it.
Show how you part your hair and how it looks tied back. If you want a haircut too, discuss the final length before choosing where the colour goes. A colour idea for long layers may need a different position in a bob or short crop.
Planning a big colour change
A large change may need more than one appointment. Earlier dye, the condition of your hair and how far you want to change the shade all affect the plan. Ask what can be done at the first visit and what may need more work later.
Decide which part matters most to you: going lighter, changing the shade, brightening the front or making uneven colour look more consistent. If you have an event coming up, share the date so you can discuss the first appointment with that in mind.
Think about care and future visits
Consider how you feel about new roots showing and returning to refresh the colour. Ask which parts of your chosen look will need attention as the hair grows or the shade changes.
Discuss how to wash, style and care for your hair after the service. Tell us what you use at home and how much time you want to spend on upkeep. Choose the colour with that routine in mind, as well as the photo you like.
Hair colour and balayage prices in Valencia
The price depends on your hair length, how thick it is, previous colour and how much work you want. Touching up roots is different from adding highlights throughout the hair or working on uneven old colour. Send current photos and your chosen look when asking for a quote.
Check which areas the price covers and whether lightening, colour adjustments and the finish are included. Ask for a haircut or treatment to be priced separately if you want those too. This helps you compare quotes for the same work.
